Yesterday was a great day at NARA Park. Bill Turville was a brilliant choice, a very encouraging teacher who helped people figure out what they wanted to do and how to do it. Two art teachers from Acton, Celia Knights and Anne Kress (who I have known since Abby's nursery school days) also offered expert guidance, as did Anne Krinsky. Quite a few of Celia's older elementary students came plus one mom and daughter that we saw at the Farmers Market and a few people from Green Acton. There also were a few "drop-ins". I would say that about 15-20 individual projects were made. There weren't any communal projects.
Anne made an octopus hat to wear at the opening. She suggested items to insert into the library's garden so s everal "floral" creations of various sizes were made. Ming and Suman were there and creating things and helping participants as well. A lot of pictures were taken. There were plenty of materials, tools and great ideas!
Congratulations to Anne and Pascale for planning a great
event, and thanks to everyone who helped out.
