These grants can support various artistic projects and activities including exhibits, festivals, performances, workshops, lectures and short-term artist residencies and performances in schools. Also, schools and youth groups may apply for the PASS program, a ticket subsidy program that helps fund cultural field trips for school-aged children for performances, educational tours and exhibits.
The Council looks for projects that represent a variety of artistic disciplines, will benefit the greatest number of residents in the two towns, and will appeal to people of diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups. New and/or original local undertakings are highly encouraged.
Please note that the ABCC cannot consider grant applications which do not include a confirmed date and venue for the performance or event.
ABCC is one of 329 all-volunteer local cultural councils serving every municipality in Massachusetts. The legislature appropriates funds annually to the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), which then allocates funds to local councils. Local councils use funding guidelines and priorities established by the MCC and may add local guidelines and priorities as well.
