The Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council is accepting applications for our Fiscal Year 2021 Grant Cycle starting October 1st 2020. Individuals, non-profit groups, schools, libraries and religious organizations may apply for funding for arts projects. Grant guidelines are available at www.actonboxboroughculturalcouncil.org or www.massculturalcouncil.org.
Applications will be available online at www.mass-culture.org. at a later date
Applications should be submitted online on or before 14th December 2020.
Potential applicants are encouraged to contact the ABCC via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by US Mail in advance of the deadline to ask questions and for help in completing applications.
These grants can support various artistic projects and activities including exhibits, festivals, performances, workshops, lectures and short-term artist residencies and performances in schools. Also, schools and youth groups may apply for a ticket subsidy program that helps fund cultural field trips for school-aged children for performances, educational tours and exhibits.
The Council looks for projects that represent a variety of artistic disciplines, will benefit the greatest number of residents in the two towns, and will appeal to people of diverse cultural backgrounds and age groups. New and/or original local undertakings are highly encouraged.
Please note that the ABCC cannot consider grant applications which do not include a confirmed date and venue for the performance or event.
Q: How does the grant process work?
A: The ABCC is one of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) that are funded by the Mass Cultural Council through an annual appropriation by the state legislature. Each LCC is required to distribute these funds through a grant process. The ABCC reviews grant applications from individuals, schools, and cultural organizations and after a careful review process we award funds to projects that demonstrate a local benefit. The ABCC also accepts applications from schools and youth groups for a field trip ticket subsidy program (formerly called the PASS Program) which helps subsidize the cost of cultural field trips for performances, educational tours and exhibits. Please note that field trip grants require a specific application.
