Welcome to the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council!

The Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council (ABCC) is one of 329 all-volunteer local cultural councils serving every municipality in Massachusetts.  The legislature appropriates funds annually to the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), which then allocates funds to local councils. Local councils use funding guidelines and priorities established by the MCC and may add local guidelines and priorities as well. ABCC then distributes these funds to support performances and cultural activities in and around our towns

Community Notices & Events

The Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council is very sad to announce the passing of a past member to lung cancer, Dawn Wang. Dawn was an active member for 3 years (2015-2018). She will be remembered for her loving and kind personality, her dedication to the community and her outstanding work and organization in initiating and implementing the China Trail Garden special 3-year project at the Acton Arboretum. In 2021, she was also awarded an ABCC grant for a China Trail Garden Label Design project to further her effort to make the China Trail Garden a continued success that can be enjoyed by many locals/visitors. She will be deeply missed.

The Acton-Boxbororough Cultural Council is very sad to announce the passing of a past member and friend, Nancy Evans. Nancy was an active member for 6 years from 2013 to 2019.  She was also a big part of the Our World Film Series that was an ABCC sub-committee/advisory group, spending more than 7 years as a member, including chairing the sub-committee for several years.  She was a dedicated, enthusiastic member, and was proud to be a steward of cultural and local history. She will be sorely missed. There will be a memorial service at Faulkner House in Acton on May 6th (rain date May 7th).
